In 2024, from October 30 to November 1, Dubai will host the World Cities Culture Forum, a landmark event organized for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This historic event was announced at a summit in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 25 to 27 October 2023, where a delegation from the Dubai Culture Authority also participated.
The forum is a showcase of the ambitions of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the emirate into an international cultural, creative and talent hub. It also highlights Dubai's role as a meeting place for the world's cultural leaders to discuss the future of cities and shape progressive cultural policies.
Founded in 2012 by the Mayor of London ahead of the Olympic Games, the World Cities Culture Forum is an annual three-day gathering of World Cities Culture Forum member cities.
